In the AKNW-accredited training session “Echoes of Tomorrow”, we explore how we can already hear the pulse of the working world of 2040 and take a look at the future of work. The focus: how do AI and hybrid working change our requirements for space and office floor area? The following workshop focuses specifically on biophilia and why environments without plants are no longer an option.

In a guest lecture, we offer FOM students insights into the influence of physical space in new working environments: how it affects people, how individual spatial needs can be assessed, which common planning mistakes to avoid, and what this means for the workplace of tomorrow.

Join Martina on the Main Stage at 14:30 as she discusses “Space for excellence” and why genuine sustainability is replacing the average office. Nothing is less sustainable than a space that makes no difference. At a time when resource efficiency and climate goals shape management agendas, we can no longer afford to manage square metres that stand empty or, worse, hold people back. True sustainability starts with the courage to be relevant, not with solar panels. It marks the end of a one-size-fits-all approach to space planning. In this talk, Martina Rahmfeld challenges the culture of average. She shows how a radical focus on users and clarity through data create working environments that generate resources rather than waste them. A case for business excellence in which environmental responsibility and outstanding performance are inseparable.

Join our compact, practical guided tours at New Work Evolution for valuable insights into the most exciting trends and innovations in New Work. The tour visited selected exhibitors and provided expert context for relevant solutions, from room acoustics to approaches to needs assessment. Instead of a general overview of trends, participants received curated guidance on the factors that make office and transformation projects effective in the long term.

A joint talk with Sabine Krumrey from bki at the Aeris showroom event in Hamburg on “The tension between efficiency and wellbeing”. The talk explored how working environments can enable performance while supporting healthy work centred on people.

At the opening of Struckmeier Plaza, Martina offers insights into the impact of space on people and how we can use space, and the office, as a tool. She leads a tour of the new exhibition, giving participants a first-hand experience of how space and furniture can be used purposefully.

How do spaces affect our wellbeing, behaviour and productivity? Martina Rahmfeld explores this question in a talk on neuroarchitecture at the Actiu showroom in Frankfurt. Neuroarchitecture brings together insights from architecture, neuroscience and psychology. It shows how thoughtfully designed spaces can influence emotions, health, collaboration and performance. The evening focuses on how to design working environments in which people feel comfortable, communicate better and collaborate more productively.

An opening talk at Management Forum Starnberg’s conference on vocational education facilities. We show why New Work also needs New Learning, and how learning spaces, workplaces and organisations can be considered together to prepare for the future.

neues bauen, Episode #016 – Mixed reality and the office of the future Meta Horizon, Meta’s Orion glasses and Apple Vision Pro offer a glimpse of how mixed reality may transform the office of the future. Host Ruben Hauser from buerohauser talks to Michael Zgoll from zgoll: and Martina Rahmfeld from wow tomorrow about developments in augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR), whether the technology can bridge communication gaps in hybrid working, and how designers can already rethink offices accordingly. Michael’s team has been using Apple Vision Pro in its everyday work for some time, offering valuable insights and discussion on human connection, communication and change.

At Aeris’s “Future of Work” event during Munich Business Week 2024, we took part in an engaging panel discussion with healthy leadership expert Benjamin Rolff, architect Martina Rahmfeld and interior architect Natascha Ninic. The panel explored New Work and the role of the office in depth. To revisit and develop those themes, Benjamin invited Martina Rahmfeld and Natascha Ninic back to the microphone.
